L. was not amused today when we were lighting our candle for Advent.
I was just trying to bring a bit of German culture into the house by saying the rhyme that goes with the candle lighting. We said it first in English then in German:
“Advent, Advent. A little light burns. First one, then two, then three, then four. Then the Christ Child at the door.”
Liam’s reaction? “Mommy, I nicht like Christmas! I no want Christ Child at door! Mommy ich hab angst Christ Child!” (Mommy I’m afraid Christ Child)
Oh well. 🙂 I’m sure he will get it eventually.
